Design for People. Human design is our mantra. It reflects the belief that the products we use should support human nature, not go against it. That belief informs everything we do at Youmeus, putting the user at the centre of our design process.
A human centred approach allows us to design products inspired by a deep understanding of how people live and how they experience things. Understanding the cultural, emotional, symbolic and commercial values and translating these into meaningful products and consumer experiences.
Holistic. We see design as an interconnected whole that is part of the larger world. Instead of acting on a brief, which can sometimes already dictate the answers, we often take a step back, ask questions and explore the bigger picture. This holistic approach enables us to look beyond the normal boundaries, unlocking new ideas and opportunities.

Chris Christou, Founder & Creative Director
After graduating in industrial design from Ravensbourne College of Design and Communication in 1994, Chris began his design career at kdo and then worked at Seymourpowell, Native and Fitch. In 2003 he founded Youmeus focusing on bridging the gap between design and brand experience.
Chris takes a hands on approach in the studio, acting as creative lead on a number of key accounts.
Kathy Iwanczak, Creative
Kathy is a cool hunter. She graduated 20 years ago with a degree in graphic design but started her career assisting on fashion shoots, working with clients such as Arena Men, Vogue l’uomo and advertising campaigns for Topshop.
Following her stint in fashion she spent 8 years working for Sebastian Conran and later Conran & Partners as an industrial stylist defining trends in furniture, interiors and product.
Romain Voulet, Design Lead
Romain qualified as a designer at the École Internationale de Design in France. He has previously worked at Lafuma followed by positions at Inédit Atelier Design, ID’s Design, Youmeus and Industrial Facility under Sam Hecht and Kim Colin.
Working as an independent design consultant, Romain supports Youmeus on all areas of research, creative and design. He has a sensitive approach to design with a passion for materials and the process of making.
