Virgin Atlantic is the second largest long haul airline in the UK and the third largest European carrier over the North Atlantic. It operates 37 aircraft and flies more than 4.5 million passengers a year to some of the world’s major cities. We were approached by Virgin Atlantic, to explore ideas and rethink the Economy meal service experience. A system that has remained almost unchanged since the 1970’s.
Our work was exploratory, with a focus on different dining and serving experiences. Ideas included the ceremony of dining, sharing, and adaptable smart modular table-wear.
