Maison&Objet 2014 Highlights Europe's biggest décor show - Maison&Objet opened its doors in Paris last Friday. Traversing its mammoth corridors some of our team attended and here are some of our highlights.
1-2.Territoire - Matali Crasset for Alessi.
French designer Matali Crasset has designed ’Territoire’ a modular tray collection for Alessi. Conceived to complement the ‘Essentiel de Pâtisserie’ collection she developed with chef Pierre Hermé for Alessi.
3. Cha teapot - Naoto Fukasawa for Alessi.
Naoto Fukasawa’s first collaboration with Alessi, ‘Cha’ from the Japanese word for tea brings the ancient traditional Japanese teapot to the mainstream. Made from polished stainless steel with a magnetic bottom it can be used on all heat sources, including induction hobs and can be brought from the hob directly to the table for serving.
4. Pantone Universe Bowl 5 - Room Copenhagen and Knud Holscher Design Studio.
Pantone Universe is a design-led collection of colorful and delightful products for everyday living, collaboratively developed by Pantone, the Room Copenhagen design team, and Knud Holscher Design Studio.
5. Accessories Collection - Tom Dixon.
Nominated Designer of the Year Maison&Objet 2014, new launches included a collection of four scented candles, Earth, Wind, Fire and Water, plus a range of barware accessories made from semi-precious materials. We love the use of materials, the collection draws inspiration from many sources including engineering, physics and nature.
6.Stud Table - Bethan Grey.
Well known for her signature materials wood, leather, metal and stone, her latest piece the Stud Table inspired by the stud work found on Asian and Arabic doors was launched at Maison&Objet.
7 i.Rain - Blackbody.
French company Blackbody founded in 2010 is a relatively new player in the lighting market. Their i.Rain OLED pendant lamp balances high technology with emotive aesthetics.
8-10. Hose - Garden Glory.
“For glamorous people with dirty nails,” is the strap line of Swedish brand Garden Glory. Gold garden hose with dangling, luxury tag and wall-mounted gold antlers brings a smile to our faces and gives ‘Maximalism” a new meaning!
